Combine the Chambers?

As part of the Miss-Lou Regional Initiative, the suggestion has been made to combine the two existing Concordia Parish chambers of commerce, Vidalia and Ferriday, into one organization for the promotion of business throughout the parish.

If combined, the Concordia Parish Chamber of Commerce would actively promote the inclusion of businesses in Clayton, Monterey and Ridgecrest, and would ultimately discuss the possibility of joining with the Natchez Chamber of Commerce to form a more powerful small business advocate for the entire region.

The idea of combining the two organizations is still in its early stages.  That's why we want your opinion.  Several real experts in the field of regionalism have spoken to the business leaders of our communities, emphasizing the advantages gained by combining forces and using our resources and assets to draw new businesses and industries to our area.  We the Vidalia Chamber Board of Directors believe that this idea is a good one.  We feel that any industry that locates within our region, whether that location is in Concordia Parish or Adams County, is a boone to the entire area, creating jobs and revenues that benefit both sides of the river. Your opinion, however, is what matters most, as it is the membership's needs and wishes that boards of both existing chambers abide by.

Please don't hesitate to share your opinion with us.
